Research Study Summary:

• We are asking you to join a research study.
• You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
• The purpose of this research study is to understand decision-making.
• Your involvement in the study is expected to take 10-15 minutes.
• There may be some risks from participating in this study such as boredom or slight discomfort from answering certain questions.
• The study will have no benefits to you.
• Taking part in this study is your choice. If you start this study, you can also choose to stop taking this study at any time. Whatever you choose will not have any negative consequences.
• However, you will also not be compensated when you choose to leave the survey without answering all the questions.
• For the integrity of our scientific exploration, the aims are not fully revealed to the participants.
• The rest of this document contains additional details about the study. Reach out to the researchers conducting this study if you have questions. At the end of this document, we will ask you if you wish to participate.

Why is this study being offered to me?

We are asking you to take part in a research study because you indicated that you had a Twitter account and accessed this account through your computer/laptop.

Are there any costs to participation?

You will not have to pay for taking part in this study.

Will I be paid for participation?

As this is a pilot, you will not be paid for participation.

How will you keep my data safe and private?

All the data we collect will be anonymous. Only the researchers involved in this study and those responsible for research oversight (such as representatives of the Yale University Human Research Protection Program, the Yale University Institutional Review Boards, and other Yale University offices who oversee research) will have access to any information that could identify you.

The data you provide may appear in anonymized data sets that we post to public repositories. When we publish the results of this research or discuss it with others, we will not use your name.
